 Dear Friends,

As we reach the end of the year, it is a good time for us to pause and reflect on our achievements and challenges of the past year. 2010 was an important and successful year for Equity for Children. Our traffic has grown to 3000 visitors each month, a remarkable increase from last year. The UNICEF - Graduate School of International Affairs (GPIA) conference, entitled "Adolescent Girls: Cornerstone of Society" utilized Equity for Children as host site for the event, registering the 400 conference attendees and developing cutting-edge research articles for display throughout the year. We developed several videos and interviews especially for the website, promoting policy changes and solutions by experts who are working to eliminate child poverty. Throughout the year we have also continued to increase our content and provide a wide range of articles, reports, videos and news to visitors about topics related to child rights, child poverty and social policy in all parts of the world.

This year, we celebrated the launch of our sister sites, Equidad para la Infancia and Equidade para a Infância, which together form the América Latina website of Equity for Children. Together, these three web sites promote child rights, equity, and child well-being globally and reach thousands of people every month.

Equity for Children began in 2007 as a research and teaching program and website launched within the GPIA at The New School University of New York.  As part of the Program's Observatory for Latin America (OLA), Equity promotes policy and action that will result in a reduction of child poverty and inequity around the world, and that seeks to increase connectivity and communication among practitioners, academics, students and non-governmental workers.

We are excited to embark upon 2011 as yet another great year of growing, learning, expanding our activities and resources, and we hope you will continue visiting our website in the years to come.

The Equity for Children team wishes you all a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!
