How much do we know about a child or young person’s need and/or desire? How do we obtain that information? The best way to do this is to listen and observe them, taking note as to what would empower them and give them a voice. In this section, we include experiences and approaches in which children take the lead; they manage projects, present their thoughts, happiness, discontent, and express their questions, comments and concerns in an analytical and progressive way.
