The report addresses economic growth, poverty and children. In addition, we are also featuring an article published in the IDS Bulletin by Jan Vandemoortele and Enrique Delamonica, titled
Taking the MDGs Beyond 2015: Hasten Slowly, which proposes a method of incorporating equity in national statistics. We also present a short documentary, "Speaking Out", which examines the opinions of a group of Bronx-based 8th graders on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. These children speak very candidly about their reaction to the fact that the United States, along with Somalia, represents one of only two UN member countries that have not yet ratified the Convention.
