Dear Friends,
As we kick off the Fall semester of 2011, I am glad to update you about several new developments, reports and activities: This month we are excited to introduce The Latin America platform, a collaboration between the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking and English-speaking components of Equity for Children. The program was initiated by Equity in 2010 and is a collaboration with the United Nations, FLACSO (Facultad Latino Americana de Ciencias Sociales), NGO's and other academic institutions of the region. It maps and describes the universities offering postgraduate childhood studies programs throughout Latin America. This new offering's formal title is: Plataforma de Posgrados, Redes y Epecialistas en Derechos y Politicas Publicas para la Infanci, or The Platform of Postgraduate, Networks and Specialists in Public Policy and Law for Children. The program offers an interactive platform to assist the development of Latin American postgraduate education supporting and advocating children’s rights. The initiative fosters research and coursework in the areas of poverty, public policy and child rights. |
