Equity for Children (EFC) is a non-profit affiliated with the International Affairs graduate program at The New School. Equity for Children aims to raise awareness and promote advocacy and influential research, uploads monthly interviews with field experts, sends out monthly newsletters to subscribers, while hands-on projects and collaborations with other universities lay ahead for the upcoming year. We are partners with Equidad para la Infancia in Argentina and Equidade para a Infancia in Brazil, a network which shares the published contents and promotes the research of Equidad para la Infancia.

2012 is an exciting year for EFC as we have multiple events planned for both the Spring and Fall semester, including panel discussions, conferences, and a collaborative academic partnership with Rutgers University that kicks off in January, 2012.

If you are interested in children, poverty, and human rights and are looking to get some administration and communications experience, this is it. We are looking for a manager to kick off the coming academic year, beginning February 2012. This will be a great opportunity for the new manager to build new relationships on top of gaining organizational management skills. The new manager will be an intern for the first 2 months, then take on the title of manager from May 2012. This is a paid on-campus job for GPIA/Milano students or those who seek experience as manager.

We are looking for a bright, skilled intern to assist in managing the website. Spanish or Portuguese speakers are welcome though it is not necessary. Your duties of 20hrs a week will include:

*    Technical website & newsletter management: content & organizational updates
*    Hosting & attending meetings with partners and collaborators
*    Event organization
*    HR management
*    Fundraising

Graduate students in the International Affairs program as well as those in other programs in The New School for Public Engagement are welcome to apply. If you are interested in the position, please send us your resume at equityforchildren@newschool.edu      We look forward to hearing from you!
