Education is a basic right for every child. It equips them with the knowledge and skills that children, youth and communities need to realize their potential and to protect themselves from harm. It has also been accepted that the improved quality of life from education translates into huge benefits for society.  Education is an essential priority for policy makers for the development of countries worldwide. Unfortunately, girl children are too often left behind. recognizing this gender disparity in education, it is crucial to research and address the issue of gender equity and the right to quality education for both girls and boys, as well as understand the obstacles they face.  In accordance with Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 3, it is important to prioritize gender parity in education and focus on social equity issues for adolescent girls, which will include education as a key factor.
