According to the United Nations, a child dies every 6 seconds from hunger related causes. Hunger and malnutrition pose the number one health risk worldwide. The World Food Program is the UN agency in charge of addressing global concerns related to hunger which they do in several innovative ways. People can support global efforts by educating themselves, using the interactive map shows the geography of world hunger or playing FreeRice.

FreeRice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program in partnership with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University The site has two goals - to provide education to everyone for free, and to help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
